I have over ten years of advertising and marketing experience, with a focus on digital marketing and website management. I love logic puzzles and problem-solving, and have always had a knack for code – so as my career progressed, I took every opportunity to learn increasingly sophisticated web development languages and skills. This allows me to really take full ownership of a website – from design and development, to marketing and attribution.
I actually like the term ‘webmaster’ to describe what I do, though some might find it antiquated. I’m better with code than many digital marketers (I’m currently taking some advanced courses online to become a full-stack developer), but also have the business acumen that most developers don’t possess. I believe this combination of skill sets brings extraordinary value to my team.
Cultural Council of Palm Beach County
Interactive ManagerI take tremendous pride in what I've accomplished with the Cultural Council since I started in 2013. The website is not only tasked with promoting the Cultural Council's gallery exhibitions, member events, donations and family programming—but also serves as the official source of information for cultural tourism in Palm Beach County. I supervise our content editor and producer, whose main responsibilities include developing blog content, email marketing/newsletter production and social media.
Under my management, the first several years saw consecutive triple-digit increases in website traffic to palmbeachculture.com. I implemented—and continue to maintain and optimize—a $10,000 AdWords for Nonprofits account. In 2014 I worked with our agency to launch a new and dramatically improved website that utilizes up-to-date best practices in SEO, UX and accessibility, using the a customized WordPress CMS to facilitate the admin process. Other website improvements include: migrating to more reliable AWS hosting, setting up staging environments and using Git repositories to coordinate development work with agency team, utilizing a CDN and minifying scripts to reduce page load times, installing SSL certificates, customizing plugins to enhance website functionality, implementing higher-converting email signup callouts and setting up more in-depth event tracking with Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
In November 2017, I migrated our events calendar (one of the county's most comprehensive) to an improved platform, along with a custom-developed local artist directory with yet another vendor. I continue to work very closely with our current creative agency to build fresh landing pages and improve site flow and conversions.
South Florida Interactive Marketing Association
Volunteer: Email Marketing ProducerI spent about 18 months as SFIMA's email marketing producer, sending 2-3 emails each month to promote their monthly educational/networking events. I helped with the migration from ExactTarget to MyEmma, and worked with board members to optimize subject lines, copy and scheduling strategies.
Palm Beach Newspapers
I held several positions during my nearly seven years at Palm Beach Newspapers, starting with the Florida Pennysaver. I served as first-level technical (software) support for the advertising team, along with creating sales reports using GQL software and Microsoft Excel. After less than a year, I was then asked to help with updates to the Pennysaver website. Then to manage PennyPix, a photo-sharing site (think: pre-Pinterest).
In subsequent positions with The Palm Beach Post, I took on more and more responsibilities as the needs arose. I became the guy people turned to when they needed something - but didn't know who to turn to. And I enjoyed being the one to come up with the solution.

Dan is a great asset to have in any organization and I learned a lot from him when he was part of digital team at The Post.
